Skaly is an IOTA-based health data for the insurance industry.
Skaly: About the Platform
Skaly is an e-health and fitness monitoring startup that has working prototype of a device for health data collection.
The device (“Foot-ID”) is similar to a scale, but other than weight also detects fat percentage, BMI and other data important for health insurance companies.
The data transfer between the Foot-ID smart device and the insurance company is facilitated via IOTA-based API.
IOTA is a directed-acyclic-graph distributed ledger that has practically zero transaction fees thanks to it’s simplified proof-of-work implementation (More about IOTA here).
Thanks to this property, IOTA is ideal for machine-to-machine communication and also for micropayments.
Skaly plans to leverage this feature to enable financial incentives from the insurance company to the user.
