Zilliqa : About the Platform

Zilliqa is the scalable and secure blockchain for hosting decentralized applications, promising throughput of nearly 3000 transactions per second.

The main business fields Zilliqa is looking at are digital advertising, gaming and remittance.

As the first step in their strategy, Zilliqa is focusing on getting developers join their platform to create a base network of users who create dApps on the blockchain. They announced sponsorship of interested developers via grant funding in summer 2018 to attract as many users as possible.

Zilliqa dApps

The Zilliqa dApps are mainly focused on entertainment and gaming (Spokkz, Impetus One, Bolt) or blockchain technology business (inmediate - smart contract issuance).

Zilliqa is actively sharing their development progress updates on LinkedIn and Medium, also featuring new team hires and dApp releases.

The Zilliqa Blockchain Sharding

The Zilliqa platform develops its own blockchain, the first blockchain that implemented the technology of sharding to enable increasing throughput as the network expands.

The Zilliqa blockchain currently runs on testnet where also the Zilliqa dApps are being built.

The Zilliqa token sale and ZIL trading runs on the Ethereum blockchain at the time of writing.

The New Smart Contract Language Scilla For More Security

To address the security issues of smart contracts, the company is introducing a new smart contract language called Scilla. It eliminates some of the known vulnerabilities of smart contracts directly at the code level by imposing a novel structure on the contract code.

The Scilla codebase is open-source and available for reviews and contributions at Github.

Among the contract security issues addressed are funds leaking, unexpected changes to critical state variables or having the contract killed by a third party. This is a reactive approach to the known problems with some smart contracts on the Ethereum platform.

Below a video demonstration of a Kickstarter-esque contract in Scilla:

Zilliqa : Token Promotion & Results

Zilliqa organized a public token sale in 2017 and had several rounds of venture funding.

The funding campaign was fully completed in January 2018, raising 22 MM USD on total from the public sale and investments from strategic partnerships.

The lead investors in some of the funding rounds were NEO Global Capital and FBG Capital.

The social media presence @zilliqa is strong at nearly 50K Twitter followers and follows natural patterns of genuine acquisition.

The Business Intelligence for Zilliqa

The company launched in 2017.

The Zilliqa team consists of academics and tech experts. While the team members do not have a vast track of record in cryptocurrencies, they are experienced in innovative technology.

Zilliqa is headquartered in Singapore and offers blockchain tech career openings for developers and blockchain researchers at the moment.

Investing in Zilliqa

Zilliqa trading is popular mainly on Asian exchanges. There are active $ZIL markets on Huobi, Binance, Bithumb, Upbit and more. The dominant exchange by volume is Huobi, an outfit that often issues zero-fee campaigns for selected markets which could potentially contribute to wilder price swings.
